GRAPE VARIETIES: Areni 70%, Petit Verdot 15%, and Tannat 15%
PRODUCTION: The pearl and the cradle of Armenian winemaking, Vayots Dzor region is developing, preserving millennial winemaking traditions, local monuments, even wild grape varieties, many of which are yet to be studied. The autochthonous variety Areni Noir, the most popular one in Armenia, originates in this region. According to the area occupied by vineyards, Armavir region is the largest viticulture and wine-making region in Armenia. It is the main source for the production of Armenian brandy and white wine.
DESCRIPTION: The dark-red shade of the wine characteristic of Tannat variety is emphasized by persistent and long aromas of cherries and plums, gently wrapped in the floral aromas typical of Petit Verdot. The aging of the wine is felt in a delicate fruity palette nicely accentuated by gentle tannins and vanilla.
FOOD PAIRING: Ideal with beef fillet, pork tenderloin and aged cheeses (i.e. Pecorino, Aged Gouda, Cheddar and Gruyere).
